Soccer Can Really Affect Your Health

Soccer Can Really Affect Your Health
                                                               By, Brenda Villa

Time ticking on the clock. You’re on the field and you’re about to score. Suddenly you feel a pain. You ignore it, until the pain comes stronger, you lost your chance of a goal. You get out but you want to keep playing. Then a couple of minutes later you have just realized you’re injured. Your coach helps you out but you know you want to keep playing. Although, sometimes it might take days, weeks, months, possibly even years to recover. These small injuries can really affect the health of a soccer athlete.

Soccer is one of the most common sport played indoor and outdoor. Sometimes an athlete can get injured by playing a sport they love. Such as soccer. The most common injuries while playing soccer might be grain pulls, tighs, calf muscle strains. Shin splints which is soreness in the calf. Patellar tendinitis pain in the knee and achilles tendinitis which is pain in the back of the ankle. These injuries can affect the soccer played health in many ways.

According to what the person said, “If you get hit in the head with a soccer ball it can mess up your cognitive function.” This other person also said, “You being hurt in a game could hurt you physically, but also mentally because you are scared of being hurt again.” This is very true, because soccer is a sport where you can use your head to hit the ball. This can really affect a soccer player health because basically a cognitive function is cerebral activities including memory, attention, language, and knowledge.

Also about 52.6% of the people have said that they have gotten injured in soccer and any sport in general.

We can fix this problem by making the sport soccer more safer. About 42.1% of the people said that soccer should be a more safer sport. Which is not the majority. Although we can make soccer a safer sport by changing the way the rules. Instead of 2v1 we can make it where only 1v1 so people can get injured by taking the ball away by two people at the same time. RIsking you to get hit in the leg and leading to a knee, ankle, or any other problem.

We can wear more protective gear. About 47.4% of people said that we need more gear to protect ourself more. Which is good because this can help us not get injured and keep our health good and healthy. So we can change a lot of things to make the soccer sport more enjoyable and safe.

Best Gift Ever!?

I recall that the best gift ever I've gotten was when I was 11 and out of no where my dad gives me this small box I stated to analyze the box by shaking it and trying to hear what was inside.Little did I know it was a phone, at first I though he was joking with me. Then I opened the box and there was a phone. I still took long to comprehend why he had bought me a phone. But then he told me I would need it just in case for any emergency. After that I still couldn't believe he bought me a phone out of no where. This gift was I think one of the best gifts I ever gotten because it changed my life because it was huge deal for me because of the responsibility to have a phone. Although I used it a lot, as to this day and I sort of think I can't live without my phone in my had.

Favorite Quote

My favorite quote would be "Anythings possible, you gotta dream like you never seen obstacles"- J Cole. This quote means to me that you could do anything and everything is possible if you don't procrastinate or stop you from doing that. So you have to dream like if there's was no obstacles from stopping you to do that. I like this quote because is has such a great meaning. Also because this quote is so true in life. Anything is possible if you just try your best and not let any obstacles that run through, stop you from doing what your trying to accomplish.

The Meaning Behind My Name.....?

My name is Brenda I don't really know what it means but I searched it up. I comes from a Scottish word meaning sword. What I think it means by sword is strong, confident, pushes people that don't mean to much or have hurt them and keeps going. My name was given to me by my parents. I wasn't really named after anyone of my family members I just happen to be named Brenda. My mom picked it because she thought it was a pretty name and it fit me. I can't really see myself being named something different because that's basically not me. I love my name because it fits me and my personality and wouldn't want to change it. Although my last name comes from my Dad side of the family.
